• The word “cloze”, according to dictionary dot com, is an adjective that describes a procedure used to measure comprehension by taking out certain elements (aka blanks!!!!)
• So we get 15 blanks in a cloze passage exercise.
• Second, there is the word “comprehension” that comes with the exercise.
• And “comprehension” means “to understand”.
