GP FAQ: What are A-Levels Rank Points and how are they calculated?
A-Levels rank points are calculated to give a rough idea of whether a student’s overall grades are competitive enough in order to gain admission to a university course.
It is calculated as follows:

A | 70-100 | 20 | 10 |
B | 60-69 | 17.5 | 8.75 |
C | 55-59 | 15 | 7.5 |
D | 50-54 | 12.5 | 6.25 |
E | 45-49 | 10 | 5 |
S | 40-44 | 5 | 2.5 |
U | 0-39 | 0 | 0 |
The maximum rank points is 90rp. Students who get higher rank points stand a better chance of getting the course they desire.

General Paper is considered a H1 subject. It must be included in the RP calculations.
